Things that stick with us
Jan. 20th, 2013 03:37 pmYay, Boo and I actually got out and about today :D We both desperately needed the exercise, even if it was cold as balls lol. It was really nice, we got sub sandwiches and pasta and frozen yogurt in the shopping center I used to walk to all the time on my year off from school. It was super-refreshing to do it with someone else for once. Just proves how much of a lonely loser I was 4 years ago. :P We talked about how much we hated "American Horror Story: Asylum", and old GBA games we used to love, and books we read in elementary school.
Speaking of which, I want to read more... >> Boo slept in for a few hours today so it was the perfect time to get about 40-50 pages read in the trilogy I've been working on for a year, ahaha. It's The Last Herald-Mage trilogy by Mercedes Lackey, which to my knowledge is the only series about gay wizards out there (if you don't count the subtext with Dumbledore XD). I LOVE the idea of the Heralds as well and Vanyel plays so well into that part of me that loves fey little angsty boys (that grow up into delicious intellectuals).
Now if only I didn't spoil it for myself... ;-; But hey, only 80 pages left!!
I've really fallen off the wagon with drawing a lot since Boo has been living with me... I need to get better about that. Lately it's all been South Park fanart XD''' A few of my drawings were actually reblogged by SP roleplayers and shippers. Who the heck ships SP characters!? It's an odd concept for me since it's a comedy show... but I guess it's sort of an AU thing?? Can anyone explain this for me better? I'm genuinely curious.
I guess I'm not much of a shipper to begin with though so... whatevs. except for Fayt and Albel GOD ALBEL WAS SO GAY SRSLY
The trip to New York's been postponed to Friday since Boo had a therapy appointment Thursday. >> I don't like it but only because I don't like sudden shifts in definite plans. Buuut her mental health is important and all. And it'll be worth it just to get out of the Bible Belt, if only for a couple weeks... I want a new environment, PLEASE. D: I won't say I'm oppressed because I know I am fucking privileged as all get-out but it'd be nice to run into some other openly gay/atheist/liberal individuals for once. It's more common in Kansas than one would think but... still. XD
